Happy Square Root Day!
March 3rd, 2009 | Published in Google Student Blog
Today is a special day indeed. March 3, 2009 (or 3/3/09) is an occasion that should thrill all math major readers. A rare holiday, Square Root Day only happens nine times in a century when the day and the month are both the square root of the last two digits of the current year.
The last Square Root Day occurred on February 2, 2004, and the next wont be for another seven years on April 4, 2016, so a celebration is definitely in order. Word on the street is that all revelers will be celebrating by eating root vegetables cut into shapes with square cross sections.
Don't be a square -- enjoy the day!
