Sunday’s OpenSocial Hackathon in London: Details
April 2nd, 2008 | Published in Google OpenSocial
Earlier we mentioned that this Sunday, the 6th of April, we will be running an OpenSocial app develoment hackathon in London.
BT has graciously volunteered to host this event at BT Centre, 81 Newgate Street. London EC1A 7AJ, just across from St. Paul's tube station, and we hope to see you there.
The event will start at 11am and go as long as people can still type. We'll provide all the food you need (including pizza and beer), as well as a strong wireless network and power outlets. If you're an early riser, you're welcome to come from 10am on. You simply need to bring your laptop, design ideas, and maybe even a few friends. The event is totally free.
What's in store? We'll walk through the state of the world around OpenSocial, including major launches by hi5, MySpace, and orkut, and then jump into coding. For those interested, we'll run a tutorial to step through building a simple OpenSocial app. Also, if you have any questions about Caja and Shindig, this is a fine place to discuss those projects.
In addition to Google engineers, on hand will be engineers from Hyves, MySpace, Netlog, studiVZ, XING, and more! who will be able to talk with you about their plans for OpenSocial.
What are you waiting for? RSVP here!
