Going Google at Gartner: 2011 Security and Risk Management Summit
July 1st, 2011 | Published in Google Enterprise
Last week the Google Enterprise Team participated in the Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit in Washington, D.C. We met CIO’s and IT leaders from all types of organizations to discuss the latest trends in information security, business continuity, and risk management.
On Monday we kicked off the showroom opening with a session entitled Why Your Data is More Secure in Google’s Cloud, which gave attendees a glimpse into Google's policies surrounding privacy, security and infrastructure management. The session also covered how Google Apps and Postini Services leverage Google’s custom-built architecture to help deliver cloud-based products with better reliability than on-premise systems.
Later in the day we were joined by our customers, Chet Loveland, CISO from MeadWestvaco, Edward Krupka, CIO from Burris Logistics and Peter Tiemeyer, VP of IT from RR Donnelley, as part of an interactive panel discussion about Google Apps, why they switched and the positive results they've seen in their businesses.
We'd like to thank everyone who stopped by our booth to learn more about Google Apps for Business & Postini Services, or to simply say "hello" to the Google staff. It was great meeting you, until next year!
