New gadget: Time Around the World
October 17th, 2007 | Published in Google Desktop API
As a Hall of Famer turned Google Desktop intern, I want to introduce the just-released Time Around the World gadget. This was one of the awesome projects I got to work on during a great summer internship.
If you like to keep track of time, need to know what time it is in different time zones, or are simply obsessed with clocks, be sure to give the Time Around the World gadget a try.
This gadget is also a great resource for developers because it uses a wide range of advanced features:
- Eye candy - zooming, rotations, and fade-outs.
- Layout management - the gadget arranges the clocks based on user-specified layouts.
- Configurable clock themes.
- Advanced options dialog techniques - the gadget uses four different options dialogs, each packed with controls and other goodies.
The gadget uses no native code — just XML and JavaScript — so you'll get all the source code when you download the gadget.
