Delegation and Single Sign On support in new version of Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook
February 2nd, 2010 | Published in Google Apps
Version 1.7 of Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook has been released with the following new features:
Support for Single Sign On:
Google Apps Sync for Outlook now supports Single Sign On. When you log in, you have the option to log in with your Google Apps account and password, or instead use your company's Single Sign On authentication if they have enabled that option.
Support for delegating email and calendar:
If you delegate your email and calendar in Google Apps, the person to whom you delegate, can handle messages and calendar events on your behalf from the Outlook client.
When you grant access to your account in Gmail, and share your primary Google Apps calendar, those messages and events are synced to the Outlook client. The person to whom you delegate can then receive and answer email on your behalf, as well as create and respond to calendar invitations on your behalf.
Editions included:
Premier and Education Editions
*Email delegation is currently not available for Education Edition
